history and the execution of women, she discusses, in alphabetical order,
29 states that currently have or have had women on death row. She gives
information about each state's death penalty process and, when available,
about the women themselves. Four appendices discuss women on death row,
1998; women with death sentences by state; length of time on death row;
women's death sentences since 1900; and ages of women on death row, 1998.
